Join Board-Certified Music Therapist Cory Woodrow to develop and improve your guitar playing skills!
This course is for guitar players of all skill levels (Beginner to Advanced), no prior music skills necessary!
Learning Objectives
Learn to redefine your perspective of music and guitar playing through guided relaxation, meditation, physical exercises and improvisation. Unlock your inner musician and feel empowered to express yourself uniquely with the guitar through songwriting.
Instructor Bio
Cory received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. In Arizona, he facilitated group and individual music therapy sessions for at-risk youth, adults with varying traumatic brain injuries, hospitalized children and individuals on the Autism spectrum.
After graduating, Cory moved back to his hometown of San Diego, California, to begin his music therapy internship with MusicWorx and Resounding Joy. During his internship, he provided music therapy services for a variety of populations at numerous locations such as Camp Pendleton, Naval Medical Center San Diego, Scripps Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program, Scripps La Jolla Memorial Hospital, Rady Children’s Hospital, Belmont Village Senior Living Sabre Springs, and the Sam and Rose Stein Education Center.
Currently, as the Director of Semper Sound, he facilitates individual and group therapy sessions for active duty military veterans and military families at VA San Diego Healthcare System, VA Aspire Center, and Naval Medical Center San Diego. Cory is grateful to be back in his hometown where he can give back to his community using music!
