Session Description
Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, a health science university with advanced frontiers in medical sciences has in its various posits taken Integrative Medicine between modern medicine and complementary Alternative medicine(CAM). The Center for Music Therapy Education and Research (CMTER) aims to bring about health to its optimum and healing of patients with a Salutogenic focus. The training programmes offered from SBV emphasises both the art and science of music therapy, which prepares its students to hone their clinical skills and begin their practice in hospital settings, using music in therapy and as therapy.
Presenter Bio
Bhuvaneswari Ramesh is a faculty member at Center for Music Therapy Education and Research(CMTER), Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University, a Medical college in Pondicherry, India. She has a masters in medical music therapy and is currently a PhD Research scholar in Music Therapy. She is the clinical coordinator for Internship trainees and observership programs at CMTER. An ardent interest in research, she has presented her work at the WCMT in 2017 and 2014 and has a few publications to her credit in the areas of pediatrics and gynecology in a hospital setting.
